The short- and long-term mobility support offers financial assistance to NCCR Members, enabling them to spend extended periods at other institutions or research groups within the NCCR network. The mobility support intends to promote scientific exchange and interdisciplinary research across the entire NCCR network.
- Short-term in this sense means a minimum of 3 overnight stays at a location that is more than 2 hours away from the place of residence by public transport.
- Long-term in this sense means more than 10 overnight stays at a location that is more than 1.5 hours away from the place of residence by public transport.
This grant support is not intended for conferences and workshops organised from outside the NCCR. If you need financial support for this, please apply for a Travel Grant.

- We cover mobility support until the annual budget is exhausted. Please check the remaining amount below.
Conditions
- The funding can be used to cover travel costs (only 1 round trip between the usual place of work and the temporary place of work per week) and accommodation costs in accordance with our reimbursement guidelines.
- For both short- and long-term mobility support, food expenses will not be covered for trips exceeding five overnight stays. It is advised to book accommodation with kitchen facilities to prepare meals, similar to home.
- Normally, no onsite travel costs are covered. However, in well justified cases, coverage of onsite travel costs may be considered on a case-by-case basis (e.g., if it leads to a reduction in accommodation costs).

Reimbursement procedure
If your application is approved by the NCCR Office, reimbursement claims have to be made no later than two months after the trip using the NCCR reimbursement form.
