Join our NCCR researchers at the Basel Zoo Nacht on the evenings of the 9th and 10th of August! This edition celebrates the 150th birthday of the Zolli, so you don’t want to miss it…
The NCCR Evolving Language will be present on 3 booths in front of the primate house, under the name “Experimentieren wie die Affen”. There, you will learn about how our researchers work with Gorillas, Orangutans and chimpanzees to discover the ins and outs of their cognitive abilities and of the origins of human language. The activities will be open from 17:00 to 22:30.
Detailed activities
- Carla Pascual Guardia will explain her experiment using eye tracking on orangutans;
- Sarah Brocard will present her experiment using touch screens on chimpanzees;
- and Emily Genty will talk about the automatic motion capture she currently develops (under the SIG gestures) at the Basel Zoo on great apes.
More information
The activities will be German, but many of our researchers also speak English and French. You can find more information about the event on the flyer and on the website of the Basel Zoo.
