SciFilmIt: create a movie in 72 hours!
Are you eager to learn about science communication and storytelling? Do you want to create a short film about your research under the mentorship of experts and present it in a cinema? Here’s the opportunity! We’re very happy to tell you that we’ve partnered up with the association SciFilmIt, which aims at bridging the gap between science and emotion through film.
Every year, SciFilmIt organizes film hackathons throughout Switzerland (in 2021: Zurich, Geneva, Basel & Lausanne). The SciFilmIt Hackathon is a three-day science filmmaking event followed by a cinema event. Researchers and artists combine their expertise to create short science films in teams of four (check out their Youtube channel). The finished films will then be presented to the public at a science cinema event in the context of a vote on the best production.
Thanks to our partnership, we’ve secured some places that are specifically dedicated to the NCCR Evolving Language community. Note that participation is not only possible for NCCR-funded researchers but also for internal collaborators. People who are not working in Geneva can also apply. Contact:
Two of our internal collaborators participated in the Hackathon in June in Zurich and the result is amazing. Check it out here!
