Equipment Purchase

The NCCR does in principle NOT cover equipment costs. Such costs have to be covered by the home institutions.

Please read research equipment guidelines (for additional information als othe the SNSF Funding regulations and the UZH expense regulations) carefully to verify under which circumstances the NCCR may finance research equipment costs. However, the SNSF can in the context of the annual audit refuse to cover the costs, in which case the costs must be covered retroactively by the lab, the institute, the department or the faculty.

In those cases, project-specific equipment can be paid with NCCR funds after submission and approval of the online form (below).

We assume no liability and only reject those applications that clearly do not comply with the guidelines or if the justification does not provide sufficient details. The remaining applications will only be accepted with reservations and no definitive coverage of costs will be confirmed.

The final decision lies with the SNSF audit.

Equipment Rental

LiRi (Linguistic Research Infrastructure) provides access to a range of data collection tools that cannot be purchased directly using SNF funding, such as eye trackers. To help researchers overcome this limitation, LiRi offers its equipment for rental.

Below is a list of the available equipment. If the tool you need is not listed, please contact Martin Meyer and Fabienne Fournichot to discuss alternative solutions.
