TTF Ethics Brown Bag Lunch Discussion

TTF Ethics
Online

The TTF Ethics would like to invite you to its last Brown Bag Lunch Discussion of the semester. It will take place online on December 11th at 12.15 and we will discuss together what legal framework is needed to avoid harmful use of research.

“Harmful use of research and the legal framework”

What legal framework do researchers need from the state to be confident that their research will not be used for harmful purposes? In a previous brown bag lunch discussion, we have explored what the moral duties of scientists regarding harmful use of research are. However, they are not the only relevant stakeholders, nor do they have the power to regulate what other people do with their research outcomes. In this brown bag lunch, we will discuss what preventive measures the state can and needs to take to avoid harmful use of research and how that impacts the work of researchers.”
