Classes on language evolution for seniors at the Uni3
In the spring semester of 2024, the Uni3 – Senior University of Geneva – offers classes on the evolution of language to its participants, in collaboration with the NCCR Evolving Language.
Schedule:
- 24th of January (10:15-12:00) : with Marion Bouffier, PhD, you’ll examine the cerebral underpinnings of language and the links between language and memory.
- 31st of January (10:15-12:00) : with Piera Filippi, PhD, you’ll look at communication in other animals, and analyze some of the ways in which signaling, meaning, syntax and pragmatics are related to language.
- 7th of February (10:15-12:00) : with Melissa Berthet, PhD, you’ll discover how scientists work with other animals to learn more about how they communicate.
- 14th of February (10:15-12:00) : all three speakers will provide food for thought by addressing questions about the evolution and future of language in an integrative course.
